Health and Safety Coordinator

As part of our construction projects, we are seeking a Health and Safety Coordinator (CoSS) to join our team and maintain a proactive approach to prevention on our construction sites.

Your Role

Reporting to Project/Site Management, you will serve as the on-site health and safety resource person. Your mandate will be to support the implementation of the prevention program, assist teams, carry out occupational health and safety follow-ups, and actively contribute to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Coordinate health and safety activities on the construction site.
  • Maintain an on-site presence to identify risks, correct deficiencies and support teams.
  • Ensure implementation of the prevention program and compliance with occupational health and safety rules.
  • Conduct health and safety orientations for new workers and subcontractors.
  • Perform regular inspections and document follow-up actions.
  • Complete daily reports on interventions, observations and corrective measures.
  • Lead health and safety committees and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Accompany CNESST representatives during site visits.
  • Participate in investigations and analyses following incidents or hazardous situations.
  • Work closely with project teams, superintendents, subcontractors and site stakeholders.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a thorough, hands-on professional who can intervene with tact and firmness and who wants to contribute to a strong culture of prevention.

The ideal candidate has:

  • Health and Safety Coordinator certification recognized by the CNESST.
  • Three to five years of relevant experience in a similar position, ideally in construction.
  • Good knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements applicable to construction sites.
  • Autonomy, sound judgment, organizational skills and thoroughness.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to collaborate with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Fluency in French; English is an asset.
  • A valid Class 5 driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.
